ACA DECA
Academic Decathlon is a competitive academic program designed for high school students. It typically consists of a series of events and competitions that assess students' knowledge and skills across various subjects, including literature, mathematics, science, social studies, music, art, and more.
Participants form a team and prepare for the Academic Decathlon by studying a designated theme for the year, which usually revolves around a specific topic or era. This theme guides the content of the competition, including essay topics and the focus of the "Super Quiz" event, a fast-paced oral quiz.
In Academic Decathlon, students not only showcase their academic prowess but also their ability to think critically, write essays, and participate in speech and interview segments. The program aims to promote academic excellence, teamwork, and intellectual growth among high school students while fostering a spirit of friendly competition. Academic Decathlon competitions take place at local, regional, state, and national levels, offering students the opportunity to challenge themselves and engage with a diverse range of subjects.
