This program is a wonderful opportunity for students interested in any health career. Students are able to receive a certification, upon completing all requirements, as a Certified Nursing Assistant or an Emergency Medical Technician. This course is designed to provide a broad understanding of the US health care system and an introduction to the roles of various members of the health team and explore a variety of health careers to help stimulate an interest in health careers. Current trends in healthcare delivery are briefly discussed. Selected moral, ethical and legal medical dilemmas are included. A brief introduction to anatomy and physiology will also be addressed. Students will also be introduced to vital signs, proper nutrition, cultural impacts on health care, and job seeking skills. CPR and first aid skills taught with the option to buy certification. Dual credit is offered through the College of Southern Idaho. After completion of all Prerequisites, all students who want to progress in the programs will need to complete an application in the program of their wanting.
