Basic art concepts as they relate to drawing and color usage. Students
will be introduced to the use of Line, Value, Shape, Color and
Perspective. The student will be working primarily in pencil but will
have opportunities to use various color mediums. Students will work
on/from still life, figure, picture and non-objective approaches to
creating art.
Intermediate Art: PREREQUISITE: Beginning Art.
Advanced Art:This course is designed to help those individuals who are serious
about art to prepare for college. Emphasis on preparing a digital
and physical portfolio. Using different media like Ceramics,
Graffiti Art, Digital Art, Carving and possibly making molds
from scratch for clay. 3-D digital animation, oil painting and
Found Art. Will be required to display 2 or 3 pieces of art in an
Art Show.
Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band
The Jazz Ensemble is an audition-only group with membership drawn from the Concert Band. The Jazz Ensemble generally performs in two concerts and a few jazz festivals.

Active throughout the year, the Drama department produces 2 major performances, one per semester. Drama and Acting classes area available throughout the school year. Seek information through the Director of the Drama Dept.: Mr. Lance Jones.
Concert Choir
Non-Auditioned Mixed choir learning the basics of singing, stage deportment and music theory.
Bella Voce
Auditioned choir for the natural Treble voice. Our music spans the gamut of Gregorian Chant to modernity. Most of the emphasis is on classical. Students must audition with the director in order to be considered for membership. It is not necessary to be a veteran musician in order to audition; however, any past musical experience will be helpful. Although the class is basically a performance-oriented class, the students also learn a great deal about musicianship and music theory. There are 2-5 performances per year.
Bel Cantos
Bel Cantos is a select choir of boys and girls with the aim of learning many and varied types of music. These range from contemporary to classical, with most emphasis on classical. Students must audition with the director in order to be considered for membership. It is not necessary to be a musician in order to audition; however, any past musical experience will be helpful. Although the class is basically a performance-oriented class, the students also learn a great deal about musicianship. A great many performances are given each year.
